Custom sawing: your logs, cut your way
Bring us a log and tell us what you want out of it. We saw it on our Wood-Mizer into slabs, boards or timbers, and it can go straight into our kiln after.

What we can cut
Live-edge slabs for tables, benches and bar tops. Boards in standard thicknesses, from four-quarter for cabinets to eight-quarter and up for heavier work. Beams, posts and mantels in the size the job calls for.
You decide how the log is opened. Book-matched slabs for a table, quartersawn oak for stable boards, or the biggest timber the log will give: tell us what you’re building and we’ll saw toward it.
From a tree to a table
A lot of the best wood around Syracuse comes out of backyards: a walnut that had to come down, an oak that lost a fight with a storm. Those logs are worth more as lumber than as firewood.
Sawing is only half of it. Fresh-sawn wood has to dry before you can build with it. We can sticker it for air-drying and then run it through the kiln, so you get back wood you can actually use.
Before you bring a log
Call first with the species, length and diameter at the small end. A photo of the end grain helps.
Yard trees can hide nails, fence wire, screws and old clothesline hooks. Tell us what you know about the tree’s history. Metal in a log is hard on a band saw blade.
Work it out
How much wood have you got, and what will it cost to dry?
Measure a board, get its board feet, then see what a run through the kiln comes to.

Tell us what you’re building.
Species, rough sizes and how dry it needs to be is enough to start. Or call.
